Hybridizing roses is as much art as science.

Each year, Brad Jalbert crafts thousands of crosses from carefully chosen parentage. From these seedlings, perhaps 100 will form the basis of the next five years of trials. After years of scrutiny and testing under harsh growing conditions, maybe three of 5000+ are deemed marketable. These are “as good as it gets” in roses.
